How to get LMPC Certificate in Punjab?

LMPC Certificate in Punjab

Legally, LMPC Certificate in Punjab is required for all companies operating in Punjab that produce, pack, or import pre-packaged goods for supply or sale. Regulated by the Legal Metrology Act, 2009, the registration entails labelling of all such products as per strict guidelines for labelling. The objective is primarily to safeguard the consumers by requiring packaged products to mention precise details, such as the net weight, Maximum Retail Price (MRP), and importer/importer manufacturer’s phone number. Such compliance is especially important for importers because Punjab custom officers demand a true certificate of LMPC to clear imports. Without this registration, shipments are held up for weeks, there are charges to be met, and even consignments are seized. The procedure is through the submission of a detailed application supported by a checklist of documents to the Punjab Legal Metrology Department. Observing this rule not only ensures that companies meet their legal obligation but also builds an honest and open image in the eyes of customers.
