Minority Loan Scheme AP: Apply Online, Subsidy, Eligibility & Status Check

Minority Loan Scheme

The Minority Loan Scheme in AP is run by the Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Finance Corporation (APSMFC). It gives subsidy-linked bank loans to Muslims, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains so they can start a small business, service, or farm unit. The main scheme is the Subsidy for Bankable Scheme ; the government gives a subsidy, the bank gives a loan, and you pay a small share.

Apply only through the OBMMS portal (apobmms.apcfss.in), then submit the hard copy to your MPDO or Municipal Commissioner. Good news: minorities do not need a caste certificate. Age is usually 21–55 years, with an income limit of about ₹1.5 lakh (rural) / ₹2 lakh (urban). Helpline: 1800-425-7585.

What is the AP Minority Loan Scheme?

The Andhra Pradesh State Minorities Finance Corporation Limited (APSMFC) is a state government company, set up in 1985. Its main job is to help the weaker sections of minority communities improve their social and economic life.

The Minority Loan Scheme gives financial help (subsidy) linked with a bank loan, so a minority person can:

  • Start or grow a small business
  • Buy a vehicle (auto, taxi, goods vehicle)
  • Set up a service unit or small industry
  • Take up agriculture and allied activities

The scheme is funded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC), New Delhi.

The main goals are to promote self-employment, help minorities earn their own income, and give money directly to the beneficiary — with no middlemen.

Which Communities Come Under the AP Minority Loan Scheme?

The scheme covers the five notified minority communities in India:

  • Muslims
  • Sikhs
  • Buddhists
  • Parsis
  • Jains

If you belong to any of these communities and live in Andhra Pradesh, you can apply — provided you meet the age and income rules.

Minorities Do Not Need a Caste Certificate

Under the OBMMS system:

  • SC, ST, BC, and Kapu applicants must attach a MeeSeva caste certificate.
  • Minority applicants do NOT need a caste certificate.

Instead, minorities need an income certificate from the Tahsildar, along with the ration card and Aadhaar. This makes the application simpler and faster for minority applicants.

How the Minority Subsidy Loan Works (Subsidy + Bank Loan + Your Share)

The main scheme is called the Subsidy for Bankable Scheme. It works in three parts:

  • The government gives a subsidy — a big share of the cost, free of cost.
  • The bank gives a loan for part of the cost.
  • You pay a small contribution from your own pocket.

Together, these three make your full unit cost. When you enter the unit cost on the OBMMS portal, the system automatically shows your subsidy amount and bank loan amount.

Different district notices give different figures. For example, some district pages mention a maximum unit cost of about ₹2 lakh, a subsidy of about 50% (up to about ₹1 lakh), a beneficiary contribution of about 10%, and a bank loan of about 40%. Recent years have used different slabs. These figures change every year and by scheme.

So always check the current unit cost, subsidy, and your share on the official portal (apobmms.apcfss.in) or at your district APSMFC office before applying. Do not depend on old figures from other websites.

AP Minority Loan Sectors and Schemes

Under the minority loan scheme, you can choose a business from these sectors:

  • ISB (Industries, Service and Business): Small shops, tailoring, saloon (salon), photo studio, small manufacturing units, and similar businesses.
  • Transport Sector: Auto rickshaw, car taxi, goods vehicle, and other vehicles. (You must have a driving licence for this sector.)
  • Agriculture and Allied Activities: Dairy, animal husbandry, and farm-related work.
