Validity of UPPCB Consent Order
Consent to Establish (CTE) for the Red, Orange, and Green categories is valid for a duration of one year or until the Project is completed and installed. Consent to Operate (CTO) for the Red and Orange categories is issued for a period of five years. The Green Category Consent may be granted for a maximum of ten years, while industries in the White Categories may receive consent for a term of up to seven years. All industries are required to submit an application for the renewal of their respective Consents upon expiration. Should there be any changes to a Project, it must secure Fresh Consent from the State Pollution Control Board.
Penalties for non-compliance
Entities that transgress environmental regulations may encounter action from either the Pollution Control Committee or the State Pollution Control Board. Those involved in the project could land in jail for no longer than three months while facing fines between Rs 10.000 and 1% of its total amount.
